Hawaii Con Tickets Now On Sale


STRANGE FRAME director GB Hajim is the founder of HawaiiCon, and tickets to this SF/F convention are now on sale. He sent me the press release so I'm passing it on to you! (I also plan to blog about my STRANGE FRAME viewing experience soon, so stay tuned.)

HawaiiCon blasts off
HAWAII – January 24, 2014 –HawaiiCon has announced the start of ticket sales to their highly anticipated science, sci-fi and fantasy convention.  HawaiiCon is scheduled for September 12, 13, and 14, 2014 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort.
In addition to the usual panels and workshops in the convention rooms, HawaiiCon will also provide members the unique opportunity to go on tours, share a luʻau, take a hula lesson, or go to the beach with their favorite stars.
HawaiiCon founder, GB Hajim, says, ”We want to create a unique event that will set us apart from other Cons, to give folks the feeling of ʻOhana, teach sustainability, respect for the ʻaina and an inspirational experience that can only be found through the adventures that the Big Island offers.”
The list of celebrities is unprecedented for a first year convention: Most of the cast of Stargate: Atlantis are scheduled to appear for a 10th year reunion, Claudia Christian and Patricia Tallman from Babylon 5, Richard Hatch, Michael Hogan and Kate Vernon from Battlestar Galactica, Esme Bianco from Game of Thrones, and voice actress Cree Summer (Drawn Together). Super genre writer-producer Jane Espenson will be on panels and running a writing workshop. For an extra special event, HawaiiCon will be hosting the 78th birthday bash of Walter Koenig, the original Chekov from Star Trek with some special guests. Panelists and workshop experts include world renown Mars mission scientist Bobak Ferdowski, Hawaiian cultural experts, cosplay designers, robotics teams, astronomers, and aerospace experts.
