I have to agree with Cathy. I find digital publishers actually get different types of submissions because, unlike the big publishers, they actually publish stories that are different, instead of sending out those form rejections. They're also willing to work with authors who, although their submissions aren't quite there yet, show promise.

Regarding editors calling for "something, ANYTHING different", I believe digital publishers are more open to things traditional houses would turn away as too different, despite what they are saying. IMHO

Thanks for the mention. It's worth noting that - because we're all prescient like that (not)- Emily and I started a serial sci-fi/romance free read on scorched sheets a couple of months ago. We're feeling very vanguard. Fair warning - some episodes are not exactly work safe ;).
