THE WATCHMAKER’S LADY: My Victorian Sex Doll Erotic Steampunk Romance

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve contracted a new sci-fi romance with Red Sage Publishing! Specifically, THE WATCHMAKER’S LADY, an erotic steampunk romance novella.

Here’s the basic premise:

A watchmaker in 1840 New England falls in love with a beautiful clockwork automaton, but how long before the townspeople discover his forbidden affair?

On the surface, this story is about a man in love with a Victorian sex doll. But if you dig a little deeper beneath the kink, you’ll discover a heartwarming romance between two soul mates who manage to find each other—and stay together—despite overwhelming odds.

Thanks to the diverse-ilicious nature of science fiction romance, I had the pleasure of integrating a number of exciting elements into this story:

* A hero with a unique occupation
* An unconventional heroine
* An unusual historical romance/Victorian setting
* Erotically charged love scenes that deliver a “sweet” level of kink

…plus a few other surprises, which I’m definitely not going to spoil for you! In fact, I hope you’ll have fun keeping them a secret until your fellow readers discover them on their own!

In terms of the story's characters and tone, think LARS AND THE REAL GIRL. Like THE WATCHMAKER’S LADY, that film explores the power of imagination and its role in love. It’s worth seeing for Ryan Gosling alone, who will melt your heart. Plot-wise, however, these two stories are completely different (LARS AND THE REAL GIRL is a romantic comedy-drama and despite the presence of Bianca, a [warning: explicit content ahead] Real Doll, is non-erotic).

If you haven’t seen LARS AND THE REAL GIRL yet, I’d like to tempt you with the trailer:

LARS AND THE REAL GIRL is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. Look for THE WATCHMAKER’S LADY in Spring 2012 from Red Sage Publishing.

Thank you, dear passengers, for this opportunity to share my news with you.

Joyfully yours,

Heather
