Four Authors Share Their Favorite Science Fiction Romance Stories

[When I heard about four new erotic sci-fi romance releases from a group of Ellora’s Cave authors, I thought, why not double the fun? I invited them to come aboard and tell us about some of their favorite science fiction romance stories. Following their post, you can check out the covers and blurbs for their latest releases. Happy reading!]

We’re excited to join you here, at The Galaxy Express, today. We (Christine d’Abo, Ria Candro, A. M. Griffin and Cynthia Sax) are Science Fiction Erotic Romance writers published with Ellora’s Cave. You know we love this genre.

We love writing it and we love reading it. Since many of us are looking for gift ideas, we thought we’d share some of our favorite science fiction romances.

Christine d’Abo

I think two of my favorite erotic sci-fi reads of all time was Robin Rotham’s Alien Overnight and Enemy Overnight. First, it has the aliens finding their mates in humans (or mostly human) trope, which I adore! Even better, Robin’s heroes are alphas with a capital A! Commander Kellen is still one of my favourite heroes to read.

Not only are the character awesome, so is Robin’s writing. She is smooth and incredibly descriptive with her storytelling. She paints a scorching picture of a sex-starved alien race desperate to find their mates, and sucks you in with the adventure elements of her plot. I highly recommend all her books.

Ria Candro

Even though I never thought I’d write a science fiction novel, I’ve always enjoyed reading the genre. I remember growing up on J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit is still one of my father’s favorites. As for my hubby, he loves The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy so much that it’s the only book he rereads every year!

Of course my interest in the genre ranges toward the more romantic. I discovered Linnea Sinclair a few years ago and was very intrigued by her blend of science fiction and romance. If you’re looking for a good, entertaining book to read, I suggest The Down Home Zombie Blues. The movie rights were optioned (under the name The Down Home Alien Blues), so you may hear more about this story soon.

A.M. Griffin

I love Nathalie Gray’s style of writing. I particularly like the books in her Femme Metal series. I think as an avid sci-fi reader, the frustration for me is that there aren’t a lot of good books that takes the sci-fi element off of Earth and to another planet or space. Nathalie Gray has not only done that, but she’s also made some pretty remarkable female heroines.

When I first sat down to write Dangerously Mine I knew my story would start at the end. The end of life on Earth as we know it. I wanted a strong female character who would face her future head on without sniveling or cowering in a corner. I also wanted to create an event where I could have endless possibilities to follow humans as they move forward in their new lives on new worlds. I hope that one day when a new sci-fi author is asked this question he/she will be able to say that one of my books has opened their eyes to a different way of writing and scenarios.

To choose one story…wow, that’s a tough one. There are so many great SFRs. I’ll narrow the field down to rather recent Science Fiction Erotic Romances.

I like my heroes somewhat primitive…okay, REALLY primitive like Ral in Laurann Dohner’s Ral’s Woman. The fight scene (bites knuckles). Yum! Khan, my hero in Warlord’s Bounty, is a bit like Ral.

I also love cyborgs. Mina Carter’s Aries Revealed has a super sexy cyborg hero. I’ve been cyber-stalking her website, waiting for the next story in that series.

I love Aubrey Ross’s Codename series (start with Codename Autumn – SO good). I read that series when it was first published and loved every story. The new extended series features even more pages of deliciousness.

I’m excited about Tina Christopher’s Tangled series. I love that fresh merging of paranormal and Science Fiction.

Yeah, I could go on and on. Oh, Piper Leigh has a new story (Galaxy Zombicus) releasing on the 19th. That will be my Christmas present to myself. (grins)

What are some of your favorite Science Fiction Romance stories?

LUST REBOOTED by Christine d'Abo

Zoe is all alone on an outpost monitoring a lonely quadrant of space. It’s nearly Christmas and all she has for company is her computer AI, Rupert. She isn’t expecting a present from Xion Corporation to help pass the time, but when she opens the box to find a sex bot, a whole world of steamy entertainment possibilities come to mind.

When Zoe activates Sam she doesn’t realize the trouble she’s in for. Sam takes Zoe to sexy new heights and Rupert does a stellar impersonation of a jealous boyfriend. Zoe struggles to ground herself in reality despite her growing lust, but it’s becoming more and more obvious she’s falling in love. But with who—Sam or Rupert?

When a computer virus is unleashed on the outpost, Zoe must choose—or risk losing them both.

BONDED by Ria Candro

When Inara crash lands on a deserted planet, the last thing she expects is to run into two stunning men from the planet Spygia—who claim she is their mate. While she’d love nothing more than to indulge in a steamy encounter—or two or three—with these gorgeous hunks, she’s on the run from the barbaric Malucons who decimated her home planet of Chivea. And she’s on a mission to find her cousin, the only other Chivean survivor. Nothing, not even the promise of paradise to be found in the Spygians’ arms, is going to stop her.

When Inara refuses to be bonded to them, Neichon and Valeron strive to uncover what secrets she’s hiding before they unveil a few of their own. How will their reluctant mate react when she learns she’s destined for, not two, but four Spygian men?

DANGEROUSLY MINE by A. M. Griffin

After aliens invade and conquer Earth, Eva is transported to a distant slave trading planet. Escape and freedom are her only priority, but none of her martial arts training prepared her for what she faces. She finds herself enslaved to the warrior King Taio. Eva’s drawn to this sexy alien male who ignites her heart and body.
Taio is disgusted with the idea of owning a slave—until now. From the moment he sees her, he knows Eva is his for the taking. Torn between lust and duty, Taio knows nothing will stop him from protecting his little warrior.

WARLORD’S BOUNTY by Cynthia Sax

The bigger the bounty, the more dangerous the fugitive.

Khan, a Chamele warlord, has a huge bounty on his head. His enemy is willing to pay an outrageous amount to secure him. Khan wants to be apprehended, especially if the bounty hunter capturing him is a brown-eyed female with razor-sharp daggers and an even sharper tongue. He’ll allow her to subdue him sexually, his passion and prowess not inhibited by restraints, and when she collects her bounty, he’ll collect his revenge, killing his enemy and claiming his little bounty hunter forever.

Zeta doesn’t do forever. She captures the worst scum in the galaxy and trades them for credits. Khan is fierce and sexy and the most dominant male she has ever encountered, but he is also a fugitive, and once she sates herself with his body, she’ll betray him. It is her job.
